February 13, 2008: Meeting of PSSCTC
Discussion:
1. Orientation
- Who to go to for what
- Make it Clearer
- Who is on orientation work group?
2. Ongoing training
- Come up with trainings and have Karen implement it.
- Basic Reference training for both Dirac and Strozier.
- Kirsten / Bill
- Part 1 should be:
- Library materials and locations
- What some collection has, which library
- Scavenger hunt
- Part 2 should be:
- Online, Computer sources for students
- Reference Interview Training
- Rebecca
- Aleph Training
- How to print return receipt, create patron record, new item record, basic functions
- Dongqing Xie, Bridgett T., Diane F.
This group should be telling librarians what the staff knows.
Results:
- Anna will work on the report for Becca.
- NPSSCTC will focus on Reference Interviews for next main training.
- Jorge will invite Kevin from FGRS to our committee
- Next meeting is Feb. 27 here at Strozier at 3:30.
I talked to Bill Modrow about our ideas for reference training sessions, and he said he would be happy to lead one of them.
So everyone, I guess I will post the Meeting Minutes here under minutes. Is there anywhere else you want me to post them?
