Brown Bags:
The committee has hosted three brown bag lunches.
The first was April 9 and 10. The topic of the lunch / dinner was library spaces. We had quite a bit of heated discussion.
The second was May 22. The topic of the lunch / dinner was Staff Relationships. We had a heated discussion, but it turned out to be more for customer service.
The third was October 25. This was a discussion at about what trainings we would like to see happen.
Trainings:
We have had the Career Center come to the library and have them discuss different items that they offer. This was May 2, 2007.
We also had an Excel training given by Dawn.
We were going to have Word training but it has been postponed due to the person moving away.
Do we have a draft of the annual report we’re supposed to submit to Becca? I’m guessing y’all talked about it at the meeting someone (ahem!) missed. Could someone post it for everyone to look over and discuss? Merci!
PSSCTC Meeting Minutes 2-27-08
We discussed communication issues as they related to cross-training possibilities.
We decided that the best way to finish the yearly report would be to collaborate via the blog.
Possible future trainings were discussed as divided between Karen Southwell- related trainings and PSSCTC-exclusive trainings.
We felt that Karen’s role would be more of the curriculum focus while ours would
be more isolated trainings like ref. interviews, database trainings, etc.
What to do with the Blog?
-Meeting minutes, brainstorming, and feedback.
-Bottom line: USE THE BLOG!!!!
BLOG TOPIC OF THE MONTH:
What should we cover in the reference interview training? We need to have this figured out within the next couple of weeks!
Were we supposed to be discussing something on here this week? I don’t have the meeting minutes, so I forgot the specifics…
[SE: I went ahead and posted this for Jorge.]
I think some of the important documents, such as meeting minutes and any training documents, should also be kept on the W:\ drive. On there we have most of the files and it would be agood place to back some of them up. It would also be nice to have a place where all the committee activities are recorded to make it easier when writing up the annual report.
Is that cool, or do you all have any different ideas?
On a second note i am going to talk to Rebecca this week, about some of the issues that we mentioned in the meeting and I’ll discuss on here what she says.
